• Timing of fuel injection pump is incorrect
• Valve timing is incorrect
• Valves are not free
• Worn cylinder bores
• Piston rings are not free or they are worn or broken
• Crankshaft bearings are worn or damaged
• Piston is damaged
• Piston height is incorrect
• Valve spring is broken
